Overview:
This package combines Nyerere National Park, Africa’s largest stand-alone national park and Mikumi National Park which is Tanzania’s fourth-biggest national park and covers 3260 sq kms. Both are conveniently located from Dar es Salaam and make fantastic safari options for those with less travel time or too busy but want a taste of the Authentic African safari.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Boat safari
Pick from your Hotel/ferry terminal at 08h00 and drive to Nyerere National Park via Kisarawe Main Road approx. 3-4 hours. Arrive at Selous Jimbiza Camp for a hot lunch and some rest at the camp spotting the mongoose, yellow baboons, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys. At 16h00, head out for boat safari with your guide along the mighty Rufiji River watching for hippos, crocodiles, various birdlife (both resident and migrant) as well as buffalos, zebras, giraffes, impalas and other different animals which drift down to the river for a drink till sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Selous Jimbiza Camp.

Day 2: Nyerere National Park Full Day Game Drive
After breakfast at 06h30 going for full day game drive with packed lunch till sunset, lunch will be taken at designated picnic site with facilities of toilets. This day you will cover plentiful of game drive along the river side through those oxbow lakes and other areas watching out for big herds of Elephant and Buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, giraffes, waterbucks, lions, hyenas, jackals and more. Dinner and overnight at Sable Mountain Lodge.

Day 3: Mikumi National National Park
After an early breakfast at the lodge, bid farewell to Nyerere National Park and drive to Mikumi National Park, passing beautiful landscape and lively local villages en-route. Stop in Morogoro for a hot lunch before continuing to Mikumi, arriving at Camp Bastian. At about 16h00, enjoy a cultural visit to one of the Maasai villages to learn of their ways of life, traditions and more. The women also make beautiful, beaded handcrafts that you may purchase. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mikumi National Park Full Day Game Drive
Today, embark on a full day game drive in Mikumi National Park, referred to as Little Serengeti due to its abundant wildlife. There is a rich variety bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants close to the water holes also lions, leopards and hippos. Furthermore, you can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Camp Bastian.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro with a game drive enroute.
