Overview: Ruaha is known for offering a rugged wilderness experience. Its dramatic terrain features rolling hills, large baobab trees, and the Great Ruaha River. This pristine natural beauty provides a backdrop for diverse wildlife and spectacular birdwatching, making it a hidden gem in Tanzania.  The park is a wildlife haven, hosting one of Tanzania’s largest elephant populations. Its vast landscapes are home to cheetah, lion, leopard, and endangered African wild dog. The park also supports a rich variety of birds, with over 570 species, making it the Eden for bird aficionados.  

Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania

On arrival at DAR International Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Dar for an overnight.

Day 2: Arrival and Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

Today is an early pick up for your flight on a light aircraft to Ruaha National Park. This southern park is truly a hidden gem, boasting large elephant populations and home to 10% of the world's lions. On arrival, you will be met by your guide and game drive you to Jabali Ridge, located on a rocky kopje overlooking a beautiful valley of baobab trees. Your day will then be yours to spend at leisure, with the option to embark on an afternoon game drive or unwind and soak up the breathtaking surroundings from the pool. Dinner and overnight. Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Days 3 &4: Exploring Ruaha National Park

Enjoy safaris in the days that follow. Start your mornings with a walking safari, allowing you to explore the wilderness on equal footing with the wildlife. Alternatively, opt for a morning or full-day game drive with a picnic lunch or a relaxed lunch in camp followed by an afternoon game drive. If you need rejuvenation, spend your day lounging by the pool or indulging in the spa. Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, say goodbye and depart for the airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam International Airport or onto Zanzibar International Airport for a relaxing beach extension. Bid farewell to the magnificent landscapes and wildlife of Ruaha National Park as you soar above the giant baobab trees dotting the plains.
