Marvel at Tanzania’s splendour with this 9-day tour, covering the celebrated northern parks of the country.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival into Tanzania

On arrival at JRO/ ARK Airport, you will be met by your driver guide and transferred to Arusha Town, the gateway to some of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders and sits at the foot of Mount Meru, one of the highest mountains in Africa for some rest and recuperation after your flight. Overnight at Kahawa Lodge

Day 2: Arusha-Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to Tarangire National Park for the start of your adventure into the wild. Tarangire is home to an abundance of wildlife and bird species and is well known for its colossal baobab trees, large elephant herds and tree climbing pythons! Enjoy an extended game drive ending at Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning and Night Game Drives in Tarangire National Park

Explore Tarangire National Park in all its glory. During the dry season,?Tarangire?has the highest concentration of mammals in the country, and?more than?550 species of birds to spot?throughout the year! Tonight, navigate the park in the night, spotting for nocturnal animals.  Dinner and overnight Tarangire Ndovu Tented Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today after breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area which spans across vast expanses of highland plains, savannah woodlands and forests and was established in 1959 as a multiple land use area, where wildlife and coexists with seminomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing. Drive to the eastern part of the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is teeming with wildlife with resident population of around 25,000 large animals living in harmony arriving at Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp. Dinner and overnight.

 Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Serengeti National Park

The camp’s location permits for early game drives down to the crater leaving you almost alone to discover this World Heritage Site. This morning, explore the world’s largest intact caldera, where tens of thousands of animals have made their home. It’s the one of the only places where you’re likely to find the “big five” including the rare opportunity to spot the elusive black rhinoceros in the wild. From the crater, continue onto the plains of the Serengeti, traversing the large preserve, admiring the flora and fauna to the central reaches of the park. Dinner and overnight Ang’ata Serengeti Camp Central.

Days 6 & 7: Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

The following days will be spent on games drives, experiencing the splendour of Serengeti National Park. The central area of the park is referred to as Africa’s Big Cat Capital due to its large feline populations. Here, expect to see prides of lion, cheetahs, leopards and many mammals. Dinner and overnight Ang’ata Serengeti Camp Central.

Day 8: Transfer to Karatu Town

After an early breakfast, bid farewell to Serengeti and drive across the park into Ngorongoro via the Naabi Gate and onto Karatu Town for an overnight at Kitela Lodge, situated beautifully in the Ngorongoro highlands. This evening, give your legs a stretch and enjoy a guided tour of the coffee plantation before dinner.

Day 9: Farewell Tanzania

Today after breakfast, drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro for onward travel arrangements.
