Overview:

In this Beach2Bush package, you will experience the unique Saadani National Park, the only coastal preserve in East Africa and Mikumi National Park. Both preserves are conveniently located with Saadani being only 100km drive from Dar es Salaam.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Afternoon Game Drive in Saadani National Park

This morning, you will be picked up by your driver guide and transferred to Saadani National Park, the only coastal preserve in East Africa. Arrive for lunch at Saadani Park Cottages. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in this unique preserve where bush meets beach. There is various wildlife to be spotted here including elephants, giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs, zebras, lions and occasionally, leopard. On a river cruise, you will meet hippos and crocodiles. Dinner & overnight Saadani Park Cottages.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Safari

Awake early for a morning game drive and chance to see varied wildlife roaming about at the crack of dawn. Return for breakfast and relax with a swim or walk along the beach. After lunch, head out to Wami River for an exciting boat safari, returning to the camp at last light. Dinner and overnight Saadani Park Cottages.

Day 3: Transfer to Mikumi National Park

This morning, drive to Mikumi National Park arriving for a delicious hot lunch at the camp. Later head out for a cultural experience in the Maasai community, one of the Nilotic ethnic tribes in Tanzania. Learn of their traditions and ways of life, indulge in some handicrafts made by the local women and participate in their dances. Dinner and overnight Mikumi Camp Bastian.

Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Today, embark on a full day game drive in Mikumi National Park, referred to as Little Serengeti due to its abundant wildlife. There is a rich variety bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants close to the water holes also lions, leopards and hippos. Furthermore, you can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Camp Bastian.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam for onward travel arrangements.
